The “Rentenmanager” and the LuGIS portal of Entgelt & Rente AG successfully underwent a rigorous evaluation by TÜV TRUST IT GmbH, part of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group. The certification was based on the “Trusted Application” requirements catalog.
Internet communication is becoming increasingly important in both private and professional life. The web browser serves as the central interface to the internet, making it a primary target for attacks from malicious actors online.
To provide users with guidance on the increasingly important criteria of data protection, data security, and protective mechanisms from an information security perspective, TÜV TRUST IT GmbH developed the “Trusted Application” requirements catalog. This catalog includes organizational assessments regarding data protection, data security, and secure software development, as well as a technical security analysis of applications.
Security for Customers of Entgelt & Rente AG
With the “Rentenmanager,” Entgelt & Rente AG offers employers a service tool for the complete management of occupational pension schemes (bAV). Through the LuGIS portal, the company provides its outsourcing services in the field of payroll accounting, including additional modules such as vacation and time management. Both web portals allow not only employers to access information at any time, but also employees and beneficiaries to view their pension or salary data and documents via personal accounts. The Rentenmanager and LuGIS service portals offer Entgelt & Rente AG customers a digital control system for bAV and payroll processes.
Thanks to the certification by TÜV TRUST IT GmbH, Entgelt & Rente AG can now demonstrate to its clients that the applications meet the required standards of quality and security.
Evaluation Process by TÜV TRUST IT GmbH
Based on the TÜV TRUST IT “Trusted Application” requirements catalog, the Rentenmanager and LuGIS portal were assessed in terms of data security and data protection. The evaluation covered areas such as information security, data protection, secure software development, and technical security. The catalog is based on standards and regulations including ISO 27001, BDSG, ISO 18028, ISO 15504, as well as specific criteria developed by TÜV TRUST IT.
Through TÜV TRUST IT’s integrated certification approach, which includes requirements from the IDW (Institute of Public Auditors in Germany), Entgelt & Rente AG also has the opportunity to efficiently certify its applications and services according to IDW PS 951.
The project was divided into several phases. In addition to a technical review of the infrastructure, relevant organizational processes for the administration of applications and infrastructure were examined. These organizational analyses were conducted through document reviews and supplementary interviews. The included data protection check verified the compliant handling of customer data.
