TÜV TRUST IT GmbH, part of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group, awarded the “Trusted Application” seal for the online portal “Kienbaum ExecutiveGateway”.
The “Kienbaum ExecutiveGateway” career portal for top specialists and executives offers board members, managing directors, and other top-level professionals access to attractive job opportunities that are not available on the open market. TÜV TRUST IT certified the security quality of the application development for this online portal.

Kienbaum Executive Consultants GmbH operates the “Kienbaum ExecutiveGateway.” This application allows top candidates and executives to make their profiles available to all Kienbaum consultants when they are ready for their next career move. This gives them exclusive access to selected mandates from executive search consultants. In addition to applying for various job postings, candidates can also be directly approached by Kienbaum with attractive offers.
Because highly sensitive personal data is exchanged via the portal, and to demonstrate the security of the “Kienbaum ExecutiveGateway” to clients, the application—like the “Compensation Portal” in 2012—was certified by TÜV TRUST IT according to the Trusted Application standard. “With our new application as well, we took a very rigorous approach to incorporating security requirements during development,” explains Dr. Alexander von Preen, Managing Director of Kienbaum Executive Consultants GmbH, regarding the project’s initial direction.
One of the requirements for such certification is that all high and medium risks identified during the assessment must be resolved. For this purpose, TÜV TRUST IT has developed an audit catalog based on standards and regulations (ISO 27001, BDSG, ISO 27033), as well as TÜV TRUST IT’s own criteria and widely accepted IT security best practices.
As part of the certification, audits were conducted in the categories of organizational security, technical security, and data protection. The project approach was divided into several steps. In addition to a technical review of the infrastructure and the application itself, the relevant organizational processes for administering the application and infrastructure were also examined. To ensure that customer data within the portal is handled in compliance with data protection regulations, a data protection check was also carried out.
“The Kienbaum Executive Gateway is characterized by its implementation in alignment with high standards of information security and data protection,” says Manuel Münchhausen, Head of the Audit Team at TÜV TRUST IT, summarizing the certification result. “We observed a strong awareness of the confidentiality of customer information.”
