DMEA 2026: Practical Insights into Security, Compliance & ISMS

The digital health sector is facing a significant area of tension: on the one hand, innovative applications, connected systems and digital services are driving healthcare forward. On the other hand, the requirements for security, compliance and regulation are continuously increasing — and are becoming a real hurdle for many companies. Between BSI specifications, data protection, ISMS and technical security measures, things quickly become complex, especially when digital products must prove themselves in real‑world use.

This is precisely why solid expertise is becoming increasingly important: companies need guidance to correctly interpret regulatory requirements, avoid common pitfalls and implement technical measures in a targeted way. At DMEA 2026, our colleague Holger Hinzmann will provide exactly this kind of practical insight.

On 22 April 2026 at 4:00 p.m., he will speak in Hall 5.2, Booth A‑103 about key security requirements and concrete implementation tips for digital health companies.

Under the title “Safety first! BSI, ISMS & Co. – Security Requirements and Implementation Tips for Digital Health Companies”, Holger will highlight what really matters — and where projects often run into difficulties in practice.

The presentation will take place at the joint booth organized by the Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) and MedEcon Ruhr, under the leadership of the Digital Health Ruhr Coordination Office.

The session will focus on:

  • key requirements from BSI, data protection and ISMS

  • common pitfalls from an audit perspective

  • practical security measures for websites, portals and apps

  • the targeted use of penetration tests to secure digital health solutions
