After Viessmann IT Service GmbH had its service portal certified last year, it has now also received the “TÜV Approved IT-Service Quality” certificate from TÜV TRUST IT for its SAP ERP services.
Viessmann IT Service GmbH is part of the Viessmann Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of heating, industrial, and cooling systems. The family-owned company employs 11,500 people and generates group revenues of 2.2 billion euros. Viessmann IT Service GmbH operates a SAP ERP system environment as a service, providing business functions and tasks for nearly all areas of the company and thus significantly contributing to the performance of the Viessmann Group. As part of the “TÜV Approved IT-Service Quality” certification, Viessmann IT Service GmbH had already had the Viessmann portal service audited. This quality seal confirms that the portal service is provided according to ITIL® best practices and that the service quality can be assessed based on Cobit®.
“We have now taken a further consistent step by proving the quality level of our SAP ERP services,” explains Dr. Harald Dörnbach, Managing Director of Viessmann IT Service GmbH. “To meet the continuously increasing performance requirements of our customers, we are deeply committed to quality assurance measures. Our motivation for the certification project was to have our services critically reviewed by independent experts and to document our service quality to our customers through an objective attestation.”

The “TÜV Approved IT-Service Quality” certification is based on an audit catalog that incorporates the best practices of the Infrastructure Library ITIL® as well as frameworks such as Cobit®, complemented by standards like ISO 20000 and ISO 27000. The catalog is used to assess the quality of an IT service. Through the certificate, IT organizations gain the opportunity to objectively and convincingly demonstrate their quality level to customers, business partners, and internal management. At the same time, the certification process also identifies potential quality weaknesses or even risks within the IT services. This enables clear identification of necessary optimization measures and the definition of investment priorities.
Before the certification audit at Viessmann IT Service GmbH, a preliminary audit was conducted and successfully completed. Both the preliminary audit and the certification audit were accompanied by a co-auditor from the ITSM Group.
“The SAP ERP service of Viessmann IT Service GmbH is a good example of how a SAP-based service can be delivered consistently effectively and efficiently. No significant deviations were found during the certification audit. In particular, a noticeable development of the reviewed services was observed between the preliminary audit and the certification audit,” explains lead auditor Markus Weyland, Senior Consultant at TÜV TRUST IT.
