TÜV TRUST IT GmbH, TÜV AUSTRIA Group certifies a high standard of security and data protection for Deutsche Telekom Technik GmbH.
As a subsidiary of Telekom Deutschland GmbH, DT Technik implements and operates technical infrastructures, including those in the CRITIS area. In order to meet and prove the high security standard in this area, DT Technik commissioned the TÜV TRUST IT GmbH, TÜV AUSTRIA Group to certify its management systems ISMS (Information Security Management System) and BCMS (Business Continuity Management System) according to the respective valid ISO standards.
As DT Technik had already successfully completed certification audits for both systems, a re-certification for the BCMS and the second surveillance audit for the ISMS were on the agenda this year. TÜV TRUST IT carried out these audits in parallel as a time and cost-saving combined audit, with the focus of the BCMS audit being on the robustness and resilience of the technical objects, while holistic security aspects such as confidentiality and availability were considered for the ISMS. Overall, the combined audit was completed with very good results, with the BCMS in particular leaving a very good impression on the auditors, as project manager Markus Weyland emphasises: “The project went very well and we are pleased that the audit was completed with really excellent results. Here I would like to highlight in particular the above-average maturity of the BCMS at industry level, which indicates a high level of commitment to safety on the part of the technical team.”
Successful ending to a good cooperation
According to ISO22301, the fulfilment of all security requirements of the BCMS must be checked and confirmed annually on real objects. During the Corona pandemic, TÜV TRUST IT, with the practical experience of the colleagues from DT Technik, established a virtual inspection by means of remote connection of all participants, which was also carried out this year in the course of the re-certification. DT Technik is not only pleased about the successful certification, but also about the reduced travel resources and CO² emissions. Finally, on 30 August 2022, the certificates for BCMS and ISMS were officially handed over by TÜV TRUST IT. Wolfgang Siebert, Head of Technology Security, Risk & Compliance, accepted both certificates on behalf of DT Technik’s technology management.
Detlev Henze, Managing Director of TÜV TRUST IT, also emphasises the good cooperation during the entire audit process: “Our thanks go to the responsible persons in the company, who once again expressed their trust in us as TÜV TRUST IT and entrusted us with the implementation of the audit. The communication and overall cooperation with those responsible at DT Technik was very pleasant and uncomplicated, for which we would like to express our sincere thanks. As independent auditors, we would like to congratulate you on the very good results.
